HowTo: edit a wiki page movie

I have watched the movie. It assumes one knows the technical aspects of page construction. It's like learning DOS all over again. What is non parsing??

Generally people learn something from most experiences but some things are not learnt for a variety of reasons e.g. inadequate materials, lacking prior knowledge, interuptions etc). Rarely is everything learnt the first time. It would be pretty scary if it was ... if everything was learnt the first time ... where would you put it?).

I guess you did learn something 'cos soon after you made this comment you started to edit your userpage. Well done.

On the subject of DOS ... I heard one of our colleagues saying that his son tried out each of the DOS commands starting from A ... the leraning stopped at F.

Good to see that you have looked at the movies.

I have not had a chance to look at the movie but I imagine that "non-parsed" would refer to something that could not be parsed by the wiki software e.g. typing {maketac} could not be parsed while " {maketoc} " could be parsed and would result in a table of contents being displayed.

Non-parsing also refers to putting tags around the text to prevent the wiki software from parsing the text e.g. " ~np~{maketoc} ~/np~ " shows the wiki syntax rather than the table of contents.
